EHS Audits

GC staff led a program of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance audits at fourteen (14) company locations across the US.
These facilities were involved in the manufacture and assembly of HVAC flexible duct work and related components. The audits were conducted to document the EHS compliance status of each facility as part of disposition environmental due diligence. Prior to visiting each facility, a document review was conducted, along with research on existing permits/approvals and compliance status of each facility through Federal and State databases.
Each facility was visited to evaluate the nature of the business including manufacturing, processes, chemical usage, waste generation, air emissions, wastewater discharges, recycling practices, and current health & safety program and practices. Facility operations personnel were interviewed concerning EHS practices and a detailed compliance inspection of the manufacturing operation performed. To help with assessing the status of each of the EHS topics, an environmental and health and safety checklist was completed during the site inspection. Key compliance areas were photo-documented during the site inspection.
A letter report was prepared summarizing the compliance assessment and highlighting non-compliance issues for each facility and recommending corrective actions and best management practices. The letter report was accompanied by a checklist of the compliance status for each of the key EHS regulatory programs applicable for that facility. Typically, GC staff was subsequently requested to provide regulatory compliance assistance, in preparing hazardous materials management, emergency and spill response plans, and treatment, storage, or disposal permits.
